DAYS HOURS MINUTE SECOND

“Another Holiday party, another year’s end and I sit here chasing ghosts again…”

Happy New Year friends.  I hope you all are doing well, that the dust is starting to settle from the Holiday season, and that you’re all looking to the new year with clarity and intention.

I really just wanted to take a minute and say “thank you” for your continued support of this local, unsigned rock n’ roll career that I’ve been able to maintain for the last 15 years.  Done a lot of reflecting the last couple weeks.  To be perfectly candid, I really figured I’d have hung it up by now.  Yet, somehow I managed to make 2015 my second busiest year….performing somewhere in the neighborhood of 140 shows.

Many of those 140 shows were grinders…nights that felt like work…nights I just didn’t want to be there.  Those nights are hard, and I’m going to make an effort to have less of them in 2016.  But I also had nights that were unforgettable.  Any chance I get to take the stage with Bob, Grover & William always turns out to be a great time.  I’ve met a lot of new folks this year in the scene and had the pleasure of watching them perform.  I hope to do more of that also in 2016.  I’ve said it many times before and I’ll say it again:  There is so much good talent in this town.  There are times I wish more folks realized it.  I feel very fortunate, though, to have so many folks as supporters…as friends.

I certainly started the year and ended the year on a high notes.  I had the opportunity in January to perform outside the country for the first time, made even better with Joellen at my side.  I then got to round out the year with an amazing night at Birdy’s when I emerged as the winner of the One Voice, One Guitar competition.  What an amazing night that was!

When you get down to it…I feel like I’m still growing, which maybe is what keeps me from hanging it up.  I still want to write, create and share music.  I still want to rock out with the Willies.  I still want to have a moment where I connect with the audience.

I don’t know that you’ll see me out there 140 times again this year.  But I’ll be out there.

I hope you’ll be out there with me.

Thanks, as always, friends….   May you all have a blessed 2016.
